Why Second Truth, 'cause that's kinda weird and pretentious?
It's half the name of a song title from the Secret of Mana soundtrack. It sounded like a good name for a web site when I bought the domain something like a decade ago. It also had something to do with broader ideas of taking a second look at previously-overlooked things but that might be over-reaching. The reason I also use that on Twitter is because most variations of my actual name that I found usable were taken. As a handle, it's pretty awkward, though, I admit!
Why have a games blog?
It was just sort of my blog and then it turned in to mostly a games blog. I also write about feminist stuff, when it comes up, and education, because I teach. Lately if I have a long-winded games editorial, I post it at Tap-Repeatedly.
What kind of games do you like really?
Almost all of them. I don't play sports games, or the really mainstream war-shooters that everyone but me seems to play. I do like saying the phrase "CoD BlOps," though. It has such a nice wet-fish sound. Oh, and I'm pretty picky about which JRPG I will throw 100-some hours at, so I haven't played whatever your favorite obscure one is, nor most of the recent Final Fantasies.
Are you a game designer or a journalist?
Actually I never thought of myself as a journalist, and then I made a mistake in a headline once and someone else said I was. So I guess the answer to your question is yes to both.
